The Iowa State Safe application is your one-stop shop for everything related to safety and security at Iowa State University. This app is available for both iOS and Android platforms.
– Mobile Blue Light: this provides the user with immediate connection to ISU Police dispatch in the case of an emergency. Activating the mobile blue light will also instantly send your location to the map monitored by ISUPD’s dispatch center.
– SafeRide: SafeRide is available throughout central campus and other university areas, including ISU-leased residence apartments, Greek parking lots, and the basketball practice facility. Anyone on campus, including visitors, can request a ride by hitting the SafeRide button in this app. This button is only visible during saferide hours which is between 6pm and 5:30am.
– Friend Walk/Virtual Walk Home: If you want someone to keep an eye on you while you walk you can select either the Friend Walk or Virtual Walk Home option. In friend walk, you select a friend who is sent your GPS location and can monitor your location as you make your way to your destination. The virtual walk home option sends your location to ISUDP dispatch who will monitor your progress to make sure you get to your destination safely.
